The EmpowerAI project was presented at the recent showcase event organized by the European Digital Education Hub (EDEH) on 19 Feburaty 2026, which brings together experts, researchers, and practitioners working to advance digital education across Europe.
During the online event, Vladislav Slavov, Associate Professor at the Technical University of Sofia, introduced the objectives and key outcomes of the EmpowerAI initiative.
The presentation focused on the project’s mission to translate existing ethical and policy frameworks for Artificial Intelligence into practical tools that support educators and students in higher education. EmpowerAI aims to bridge the gap between high-level AI governance principles and everyday academic practice.
Among the main results presented were:
- the development of ethical guidelines for the use of AI in academia,
- a multilingual training curriculum for university educators,
- and a set of case-based learning materials designed to support responsible AI use in teaching, learning, and assessment.
The EDEH showcase featured several innovative projects addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, digital skills, STEM education, media literacy, and adult learning systems. The event provided an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences and discuss emerging challenges related to the integration of digital technologies in education.
Participation in the showcase contributes to the dissemination of EmpowerAI results and promotes dialogue on responsible AI adoption in higher education across Europe.
