TU-Sofia Presents Focus Group Results at ICEST 2025

We are pleased to share that the EmpowerAI project was featured at the 60th International Scientific Conference on Information, Communication and Energy Systems and Technologies (ICEST 2025), held in Ohrid, North Macedonia, from June 26 to 28, 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Vladislav Slavov from the Technical University of Sofia presented the outcomes of the faculty focus group conducted at TU-Sofia, exploring the ethical dimensions of using generative AI in academic education. The presentation highlighted key findings from the structured discussion with university lecturers, including challenges and recommendations related to academic integrity, critical thinking, equitable access to technology, and institutional policy needs.

The paper, titled "Exploring the Ethical Use of AI Technologies/Applications in Academic Environments," co-authored by Yoana Pavlova and Vladislav Slavov, will be published in the official ICEST 2025 Conference Proceedings.

This contribution is part of EmpowerAI’s ongoing effort to support the co-creation of ethical guidelines for AI integration in higher education.
